I know that some of you wondered whether the Brother Don was gone and out for the count, but it is not so.
There are seasons for all things, the book of Ecclesiastes tells us -
Amplified Bible (AMP)
1TO EVERYTHING there is a season, and a time for every matter or purpose under heaven:
2A time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to pluck up what is planted,
3A time to kill and a time to heal, a time to break down and a time to build up,
4A time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5A time to cast away stones and a time to gather stones together, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
6A time to get and a time to lose, a time to keep and a time to cast away,
7A time to rend and a time to sew, a time to keep silence and a time to speak,
8A time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.
9What profit remains for the worker from his toil?
10I have seen the painful labor and exertion and miserable business which God has given to the sons of men with which to exercise and busy themselves.
11He has made everything beautiful in its time. He also has planted eternity in men's hearts and minds [a divinely implanted sense of a purpose working through the ages which nothing under the sun but God alone can satisfy], yet so that men cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.
In His time He makes all things beautiful... Well I have been going through a season of listening and trying to make sense of the many voices and thoughts that I hear during this time of seeking. Trusting that in Gods time, He will indeed make all things beautiful in my life. Have you ever felt like Martha, when you really want to be Mary but don’t quite know how.
Recently I have been reading and listening to the book of Job (check out The daily audio bible - an awesome ministry). One of the things about Job for me is that he was real and I can truly identify with many of the emotions that Job travelled through on his journey to his redemption from the Lord. This is not a brother or sister who just gives a 'praise the Lord, hallelujah' whenever you ask how they are doing. No Job gave it real and raw. It is because of brethren like dear Job, who told it as it is/was, warts and all, that the true sense of the scripture, in Revelations 12 vs. 11 has a real foundational footing in my life -
Amplified Bible (AMP)
11And they have overcome (conquered) him by means of the blood of the Lamb and by the utterance of their testimony, for they did not love and cling to life even when faced with death [holding their lives cheap till they had to die for their witnessing].
Sometimes sharing your testimony is what will help another to get their breakthrough. However, whilst drawing strength from Job he also puts me to shame and challenges my faith walk, all at the same time. This is after all was the man, whom was as famous and wealthy as the Richard Branson’s, Alan Sugars or Donald Trump’s of our world, in his day. This man was put forward for this turn of events by none other than father God Himself; as father G said of Job to satan: “there is none like him (Job) on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil?" Job 1 vs. 8. After such accolades, we next see Job lose all that he owned (and that was a lot – see chapter 1) and then to suffer the death of his children, to experience all of that calamity and suffering and then hear Job say:
Amplified Bible (AMP)
21And said, Naked (without possessions) came I [into this world] from my mother's womb, and naked (without possessions) shall I depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; blessed (praised and magnified in worship) be the name of the Lord!
22In all this Job sinned not nor charged God foolishly.
…it stirs up all types of things in my heart, such as a sense on faithlessness and unworthiness, amongst other things.
However, Job knew to his very core, that the Lord was truly his shepherd and that his redeemer/vindicator lives. This is how he could go through the pain and torment of his situation. Even as I read Jobs complaints, it speaks to me of a man who wanted to face his God, to speak to his God and get answers directly from Him – sounds like a man full of faith, belief and courage to me and not one who no longer believed in Gods existence.
So, as I sit quietly, as did Job and hold counsel with those around me and try not completely losing the plot; you will have to forgive the reduced amount of posts. After all, I always say to test everything and if it is just things coming from me, then it is a waste of time, but if I am, truly allowing myself to be a vessel, then it is worth the wait – I guess.
Be strengthened in your walk; do not let the signs of the times perturb you. We have been told by Jesus Himself that issues such as the recent world wide events – economic crisis, the many war and civil unrest that we see daily on the news in many countries – are just a small foretaste of what will be seen as a Godless society, as His grace (through societies ungodliness) has been force away. Fear not as we have been forewarned, and to be forewarned is to be forearmed:
Amplified Bible (AMP)
25So see to it that you do not reject Him or refuse to listen to and heed Him who is speaking [to you now]. For if they [the Israelites] did not escape when they refused to listen and heed Him Who warned and divinely instructed them [here] on earth [revealing with heavenly warnings His will], how much less shall we escape if we reject and turn our backs on Him Who cautions and admonishes [us] from heaven?
26Then [at Mount Sinai] His voice shook the earth, but now He has given a promise: Yet once more I will shake and make tremble not only the earth but also the [starry] heavens.
27Now this expression, yet once more, indicates the final removal and transformation of all [that can be] shaken--that is, of that which has been created--in order that what cannot be shaken may remain and continue.
28Let us therefore, receiving a kingdom that is firm and stable and cannot be shaken, offer to God pleasing service and acceptable worship, with modesty and pious care and godly fear and awe;
29For our God [is indeed] a consuming fire
Do not let the shaking take away your peace - in Him.
God bless you and remember 'The Lord is your shepherd'
Love Brother Don
1 Thessalonians 5:21 (New Living Translation)
‘but test everything that is said. Hold on to what is good.’
